Awards
Members of the Burnside Painting Group may enter their work into the Group's competitions which recognise the achievements of the winners with a number of different awards: the Annual Awards, Painting of the Quarter awards and Phillis Kopp Award.
To enter, bring your work along to our regular classes or social nights on the dates indicated.
PAINTING OF THE QUARTER AWARDS
There are two categories you can enter: Experienced and Novice. Winning works are judged by members' vote.
Prize winners receive a certificate to acknowledge their achievement.

2011 ANNUAL AWARD WINNERS

Local artist and art teacher, Craig Bowyer, kindly agreed to judge the Annual Awards in 2011. The winners, as announced at the launch of the Annual Exhibition on Thursday 1 September, were:
- Patron’s Award - for best oils or acrylics

- President’s Award - for works on paper (watercolour, gouache, pastel, charcoal)

2010 ANNUAL AWARD WINNERS

THE PHILLIS KOPP AWARD
Phyllis Kopp was a long time member of the Burnside Painting Group and served as Secretary on the committee for well over a decade.
Phyllis generously established a trust fund, with the interest earned providing money for an annual award for Burnside Painting Group members. The first award was made in 1991.
Any member of the Burnside Painting Group who has not won any monetary prizes within the previous 12 monthsis eligible to enter this competition.
There is a $2 entry fee. Entry forms are made available on the night.
All paintings must be framed and the artist's signature must be masked. Members present judge the winning artwork by ballot.
A cash prize is awarded to the winner and runner up, and certificates are awarded for both first and second prize on the night of judging.
First prize is 80% of total prize money for the winner and 20% for the runner-up.
